Hey - I started painting 3 years ago by reading on the web. I use PPG Concept single stage urethane which is pricey but looks nice. I put a devilbiss DAD 500 3 stage desiccant unit in my shop which provides very dry air. Here is a link to a Tokheim 39 I did. It is the only pump I own. I'm still painting at a basic level but I learn more everytime I do a project.
Good Luck, Mike http://www.1000usa.com/Tokheim.htm

As a young man, I worked at a local service station. The station had changed hands and brands more than a few times. Everytime it changed colors(owners) it was painted by hand with a brush, I did it twice in 4 years. Think by the time the station finally folded the pumps must have weighed an extra 20#s from all the extra paint. I wish I had had the foresight and taken them home, when I had the chance. Didn't Jack put up a photo earlier this year showing someone brush painting a pump?
