Nice early first-generation logo trademarked in 1941. Can is in excellent condition as shown, Photos about actual size.

I can't find a single other example of this can for valuation, so send in your offers. Oldgas gets 10% of the winning offer. Thanks for looking.

Yeah! I was wondering the same thing. No response whatsoever. What's up with that?

My Ebay guy saw the incredibly weak response from you guys (ONE offer) and begged me to send it his way. Simple as that. You want to support Oldgas? Bid through Oldgas on Ebay OR put your darned money on the table in here when I'm offering to give Jim 10%. It's not rocket science.

If you had a clue you'd know that I keep some stuff, sell some stuff, and (silly me) try to get the best value when I sell. I put things on Oldgas first because it's a great community and I'd rather support it than Ebay, even with the "buy through" affiliate link.

Now, if you'd like to put your money where your mouth is, kindly bid. And if you don't actually like the can in question and have no real interest in it then just move along. That's sort of the bottom line, really - if you want it just say so, and if you don't, stop grousing and move along to something that interests you.

I never said I was holding an auction, I simply said "send your offers". I received a single offer in 7 days and felt that wasn't a good enough offer.

If enough of you bid through the Oldgas affiliate box and then buy other items on ebay Jim will make out better anyway. As long as you don't follow ANY other affiliate links, Jim will get a nice commission on ANYTHING you buy on ebay for the next 7 days.

Jim should revisit his affiliate status and make sure he's on the right plan. Ebay currently gives HALF THEIR PROFIT to affiliates on ANYTHING purchased by someone who came in through the affiliate's coded link. The affiliate's code stays with the buyer's purchases from ANY SELLER on Ebay for 7 days, just as long as the buyer doesn't click another affiliate link.

For instance, my Ebay guy signed up and sent a notice to all his buyers, asking them to search Ebay through the box on his site. The first week he made $900 because one person bought a car on Ebay motors after following his affiliate link and several others made high-end buys the same way.

If every one of you did ALL your Ebay searches through Oldgas, or simply did one in here every 7 days and avoided all other affiliate links like the plague, Jim should develop a decent ongoing commission to support the site. He could easily get at least a couple hundred bucks a month, because he'd get a cut of every single thing you buy on Ebay.
