I would like to conduct a brief survey for Joy curbside pump Model 77 (the only model produced by Joy in Long Beach, CA).

How many members own a Joy gas pump?

Does your pump have a Yale Lock (based on the sales brochure)?

Does your pump have an external pressure gauge (based on sales brochure)?

Visigauge? Joy called it a "Detectascope."

My pump does not have a Yale lock or any other type of lock and does not have an external pressure gauge.
My pump did not have a Detectascope so I fabricated one.

Great topic for a thread. I have one. It was converted at one point to a pipe fitting for the Detectascope so I found this fabricated one on Oldgas. The pressure gauge is on the inside. You don’t see many of these around. This was a really fun pump to restore with all the tubing and parts to polish up. Quite an engineering effort and cost when you think about how simple other pumps were back in the twenties.

I conducted the shortest survey on oldgas, 1 response. I know of about 6 Joy Model 77 pumps. A rare and unusual pump in my opinion. Thank you mcgas for responding.

I am a fan of Joy pumps. They are cool little pumps, but I do not own one, nor do I know much to speak up and add to the conversation. Likely the case with many other members.
