So...what's the one item you've always wanted to add to your collection but haven't yet? Or the one that you know you should have pulled the trigger on but didn't?
Mine...after all these years never popped on a 6ft porcelain red running man sign. I should have when they were reasonable.

At Iowa Gas twenty years ago, I saw a large porcelain sign with a wonderful mechanical man graphic with lettering for "Robot" auto frame straightening. Should have gotten it but I was already over budget for the trip. The sign is probably way over my budget now. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

Just ONE Ohio Oil?! I have two that come to mind immediately and always do when I talk to others about the "wish I'd bought it years ago" topic. I wish I would've bought a Pegasus cookie cutter when a nice one was around $1500 or so, when the market for "big signs" was somewhat limited.
The other would be a round Transcontinental Marathon running man green/orange sign, minty. I just couldn't afford it at the time, now I REALLY couldn't afford one in the same condition as the one years ago! Darin

Strange , I had a Running Man sign, 6 ft I think and an Ohio oil , red and gold. Bought them together in the 70's. I probably made $75-$100 when I sold them, and was happy. Just odd they are both posted in this thread.

I was at the Roundtop antique show many years ago here in central Texas. Ran across an original Independent oil black, red,and white sign. Could have bought it for $200 and walked away because he wouldnât come down to $175. Probably worth $1500 today. Sometimes being cheap is âfrugalâ sometimes itâs just âdumbâ.

A group of gas pump globe lenses. They included a Farmoil Farmers Union of Iowa lens along with several Midway lenses including ones with the car pictured! Still makes me mad.

Passed on two near-mint Flying A buttons for about $4000 each. I thought the prices were getting ridiculous.
AndâŚ. I wish I wouldâve bought every single sign at CTO ump-teen years ago for about ten consecutive years, cuz they are all worth 10 fold now.
