Wondered where that White Gold globe went…made a deal with the guy and was ready to drive down to meet him when he ended up ghosting me…guess he got offered more. No integrity around anymore.

Spoke with Anthony (Big Block Cat) and looks like we have a scammer on this site. Anthony bought the pump and globe at auction and then I was offered it for sale. Good reminder to everyone to be careful; especially with new-ish members!

Scammers are everywhere anymore. A few weeks ago I was chatting with a longtime Oldgas member about a sign he had. He had posted it on here in 2017 but had never sold it and still owns it. Ironically the very picture he had posted back then, which is still in the Oldgas archives, showed up on a Facebook group for sale the next day. I called him and told him that someone had used his old picture and he told me that he hadn’t posted it anywhere else before or since. They search the internet for old photos and then pass them off as legit items for sale on Facebook under a stolen profile or one that’s fake. I never buy from anyone online anymore unless I know the seller or have good reference from someone in the hobby I know. It’s become epidemic and Oldgas isn’t immune to it. Be careful….
