Hello everyone new to the forum. I have a recently acquired Tokheim 39 that is missing the external ID tag but has this one on the frame. I'm wondering what the PAH in the type stands for

Welcome to the club. Tokheim is one of the best for labeling their equipment on the tag. That is your original manufacturer ID tag that should be on the outside of the pump. On Tokheim 39s it is on the side on the small door that you open to get into the pump, unless the doors lift off, then it's just on the side about half way up. Tokheim built the model 39 for twenty years, from 1939 to 1959. It was replaced by the model 300 in 1955, and then by the model 425 "Interceptor" in 1958. Your pump is from June 1948. The type letters would describe specific features that were on the pump.
There were many variants of the 39. Tall, short, ad glass, no ad glass, hose hangs free on side, hose has internal retractor reel, main window is mounted with rubber strip, main window is mounted in frame, doors are on hinges, or doors lift off, or any combinations of options offered at time of production.
I looked in "The Illustrated Guide to Gas Pumps" by Jack Sims, hoping to find a description of the PEH code, but there are no listings for the that specific code. It all comes down to what trim and features are on your specific pump.
