Not sure if anyone has an interest in 5 gallon cans...this one I just listed:
It's an Ellisco that is embossed "AMOCO"
Item number: 150093441910

Can anyone tell me the year of this can?

Thank you in advance.

The American Oil Co. of Baltimore was founded in 1910. Your can probably dates from this early period. It's a really neat can. One of the better ones I've ever seen! For a bulk can it looks like it's doing well on ebay too. Best of luck to you on the auction.

Thank you Gary. What about a PAN-AM 5 gallon can, would the PAN-AM be older than AMOCO?

Pan-Am was established in 1916. They purchased a controlling interest of American Oil Co (Baltimore) in 1923. So your two cans are related.

...a buddy of mine won it - he likes his pre-torch/oval Amoco stuff...it's going to a good home...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I am sure it is going to a good home.
I also will be listing a 5 gallon PAN-AM can soon. All the listings of gas station items I am or was selling belong to my Uncle, he has been in the gas station business for years all aspects of it...he is finding more and more items he never knew he had...like NOS of SHELL signs to very old cans like that AMOCO can.

If I list any of the very old AMOCO at ebay... I will be sure to post it here at oldgas.
