I purcahsed a porcelain Miller Tire sign in about 9.5 condidtion if not NOS (Heavy shelving). I had it shipped here and when it arrived the porcelain sign was no longer attached to the orignal wood border. All the gromments had come loose. The screws were in the bottom of the box with the gromments around the screw heads. My questions is - Do I try and re - attach sign to wood border. Leave it alone and hang without wood border. Putting new washers under old screws would not look good. Do I age new washer in muriatic acid to take off galvinizing etc.. Any thougts?
