It was my understading that Standard gave these to their dealers in the 70's as a promotion. I have only seen the red crown. (I did find on on ebay two years ago and bought it.) Do you know if yours was orginally a white crown? I wonder if a gold crown exists? I can send you a picture of the hanging sconce that came with the one I bought it helps you. Craig Tenhoff

Interested in globes  Craig it does not appear to have ever been painted. I have seen them white & red Yeah send a pic of the sconce

I'm pretty sure yours was made by Time Passages in the 80's-90's. Originals I've seen do not have the flanged base.

DB, So the originals had a 7" screw on metal base? I've seen originals but I don't recall what the base looked like. I do know they came with an antique brass looking swag top AND a wooden base so they could be used as a desk lamp or hanging light. The originals I've seen were always painted red.

Bob, Only the repo's have a flanged base.  There were also some repo's made with a 1/2" hole in the top to be used as a table lamp & shade.

Makes since to me. If they hung why would the base be flanged.
