I gang, I am done painting my Wayne 505/ (DODGE BROTHERS) pump an dam putting it back together.
I have a couple of questions as part of it was disassenbled when I got it.

I am confused about the aluminum door. I have tried each on each side and its not alligning in the middle(see attached pic) its off setting.I have looked at other pics of other pumps and the door is centered. Any suggestions??

Also, is there some glass or something goes inside this door or inset in the beveled edge? see pic.

Also, when I bought mine, the aluminum door was open and I dont know how you attach the opening side, latch ect? I dont have any other parts and I must be missing something.

One last question? what do you use to clean up or polish the porcelain faces/

whoops, I also need add glass for this model? I want something custom, so maybe I should buy a frosted set and have it done. I want to do a DODGE BROTHERS logo of some sort on it.

The stainless steel door probably has a twist to it making it not center with the latch on the pump. just pull the twist out of it. It looks like you are missing the lock cylinders for the stainless doors.

The ad glass for the top of your pump is available through most venders, try www.gaspump.com He will have the ones you need. Ron will also have the correct rubber to hold the ad glass and door glass in place. He also sells the door glass, which has curved ends and is a little more difficult to have cut at the hardware store.

Some light rubbing compound and a shop rag will help clean up those faces.

Dont know what that rod alongside that door is for? But I think you can solve your door alinement problem by taking off the door and rotate the piano hinge to where it will screw on behind the door. In other words,rotate the hinge with the door off the pump to like when the door would be closed, then attach the door to the pump. Man, I hope that makes sense!! Kent.

Here is a picture of both sides of the style Lock you need. You can get these Cam Locks from your local Hardware store or from any of the Gas Pump Parts suppliers.



Here is a Shot of the Window Rubber you need. My pump was missing the glass in both doors I just took them to a local Glass shop and they have the correct rubber and cut the glass for the windows.


Here is a shot of the door closed on the pump you should have approximately 1/2" of body showing on each side of the Door. I also noticed when I disassembled mine for restoration that the top and bottom of the doors really chewed up the original paint in these areas, there is a lip on the back side of the doors top and bottom and I bent these up so they would no longer scuff up the paint. You don't want that to happen to your Fresh Paint.


As far as the add glass goes if you are going to do something custom with the add glass and you just want frosted a glass shop will be able to do this for you also, when I bought my add glass for this Phillips 66 pump they had square corners so I had the glass shop round them off and yes I ordered the correct size that is stated in the Vic's catalog.

Here is a shot of the inside of the hinge, are you sure you mounted them in the right holes.


I hope this helps you out and I will keep an eye on this thread to try to help you out as much as possible. This is a Very Common Pump, but I have allways really liked them.

What they mean is the stainless frame has to be in the opened position when you screw the hinge in place. When you close the frame the hinge closes on itself.

Rubbing compound works good for the porcelain faces.

Looking at your first picture again it looks like you didn't install the side panel on the side you are pointing at correctly, you have to put the sides on before you put the center section of the top on. There is also rubber that goes on the edge of the Front and Back Piece with the Add Glass windows of the top to keep the paint from rubbing on the 3 piece's of the top. This rubber was most likly to seal it up and keep water and Bee's out back in the Day.

here is a pic of the pump as it sits in my room. I have a lot left to do but wanted it out of the work area as all that stays in there gets scratched eventually.

I checked my receipts and the Ill fitting Add Glass came from Gas Pump Heaven not Vic's as I stated earlier. Allways had good luck with Vic's for parts.
