Try your local auto body shops for large boxes. They normally just throw the boxes away.

OK THIS IS BECOMING A NIGHTMARE,I WENT TO MY LOCAL UPS STORE TO SHIP SOME STUFF AND BROUGHT ALL THE ZIP CODES THAT HAVE RESPONDED,THERE SHIPPING PRICES ALONE DO NOT EVEN KIND OF MAKE SINCE??

-THIS WAS BASED ON THE SIZE 36"X 36" 12" DEEP "THIS WOULD BE THE IDEAL BOX" THAT SIZE ABOVE ,THE SIGNS WOULD SLIDE RIGHT INTO PERFECTLY,HERE'S THE DEAL BILL SAYS "UPS STORE OWNER" WITHOUT ME HAVING THEM BOXED THIS IS A APPROXIMATION ON SHIPPING WITCH SOUNDS WAYYYYYYYYYY TO HIGH! & OBVIOUSLY IS NOT COST EFFECTIVE FOR ME TO BOX ALL OF THESE UP TO GET A QUOTE TO BE TOLD NO THANKS,HOW IS THE BEST WAY TO GO ABOUT ALL OF THIS,I HAVE FOUND BOXES AT SEARS PLENTY OF THEM ,THE ONLY THING THEY ARE WAY OVER SIZED ,BUT WILL WORK! ANYWAYS INPUT PLEASE!

HERES THE QUOTE FROM MY UPS STORE:
90 POUND RATE/$50.00 SURCHARGE,
-40342 $123.
-95118 $135.96
-70706 $111.93
-45255 $126.23
-60050 $126.73

UPS STORE 830-895.5400

-I DON'T KNOW GUYS SUGGESTIONS PLEASE,OR IS BOXING THESE ALL UP ,AND SHOPPING SHIPPING PRICES THE ONLY WAY TO GET ACCURATE NUMBERS?

Generally, FedEx has the cheapest shipping cost.

Easiest way to do this is find similar size boxes, then package the sign. After it's packaged, weigh yourself on your bathroom type scale. Then weigh yourself with the box and subtract your weight. You'll know what the box weighs. After that, measure the box (width, height, length) and go online to get a shipping quote. You can try all three carriers to see who has the cheapest rate (UPS, FedEx, USPS). Usually, FedEx and USPS will be the lowest. However, USPS has a "girth" size, which FedEx doesn't.

Also, any UPS or FedEx agent will charge a surcharge. They mark up the actual cost to make a profit. You'll get better prices directly at a UPS or FedEx owned store.

That's how I do it and I'm usually within a few dollars from actual cost.
