I know, if I picked a more popular model of pump to restore, I could just buy replacement face plates. But I didn't.
What does everyone use to touch-up the white portion of the face plates? Do you use a paint or some type of the porcelin tub/sink touch-up kits in the hardware store. I have found that the porcelin touch-ups aren't bright enough white.
Thanks for any ideas at all.
After getting a better faceplate and ad glass pegs from Paul, I'm getting closer to being done with my first pump.

Go to a craft or hobby store & buy small bottles of paint, then mix to match. Trial & err, clean off & try again.
Will be cheaper than buying the porcelain repair paints that don't match.

can pocelian be laser matched?
Looking for gas,oil related clocks,especially neon and spinners .clock repair available. Mick

Sure w/ trial & err, but paint stores want to sell qts/gal & he needs less than 1oz.

I've used (auto body) spot puddy to fill up deep chips so the paint is at the same level. It's like a real thick primer and sands easy.Get it at the auto paint store, comes in a tube.

Where are they chipped?If it's around the mounting holes,you might consider plastic washers to cover up the chips.I've done that but I've never touched up in the field.If the chips are in the field see posts above.
