This is an early Western curb pump (says Western on it) that I found driving about. It's in front of an old store.

Looking in the pump book it looks like it is missing the steel shroud that would have covered up the mid section of the pump.

Is this pump 'tough' and worth pursuing?

Thanks for any help.

Dan H

I wouldn't give a ton of money for it, but it's neat. I personally have left a few I've found just because they don't appeal to me and they're not worth all that much money to resell or trade for something I do want, but some people are really into them.

I like these early pumps, but with what it's missing I would offer $50-100. It would look good restored the way it is now. Some one out there may have the parts you need or would lend you the parts to be cast. With this cost you might be right there at what Jack's book lists as value. Richard

Looks like a Western 175 about 1915 or so . As people have mentioned , don't sink the farm on it . It's a pump, not an investment thats gonna fund yer retirement . Ed Shaver

Looks like either the WESTERN 49 or 50 W/O the sq doors.
Would be nice to find the 2 cast iron doors & lower cover plate, looks complete except for those items.

When you stop to ask about the pump don't forget to ask if they have any other pumps, oil cans, signs, globes Etc Good Luck
