I went to see some signs two days ago and the seller has a texaco sign I never seen before, do you think it's original or fantasy ? It's porcelain and in good condition, all he has in his garage was original so I'm curious about this sign
He wanted 200 € for it (300 $)so what you think ?

text "schmiert besser" is german and the traduction is "lubricates better"

Original!!! The embossed die cut frame would take a special die and be very expensive to make...

Looks like a sign made for the European market. They were pretty much always different from the U.S.A. market. Would be a tough call for anyone in the states including myself to make a real/repro determination on this one....

....unless a Hardcore Texaco collector can chime in and say for sure.

It is a Texaco sign used in Germany. One I have never seen before. It is worth the money.
