how do i know what model computer is in my S+W model 80? there's a plate that says Veeder-root with a number, i assume thats the serial number. but where is the model number?
second question is about the re-set handle. its two pieces. the handle and the shaft. the handle and the shaft are connected, but where they connect the handle just spins freely. if i hold onto the shaft the handle spins. i assume there two pieces come apart. how and is the handle stripped or broken on the shaft?

Might have a broken pin thru shaft or set screw loose/missing.

A little side story. When I first got into this hobby my son told me about two pumps that were sitting in front of the old station converted into a antique store. I looked at the pump and the emblem on the door said M-S, I went home thinking I had found a Martin & Schwartz pump.
Went back to have a better look at it and realized the emblem was upside down (the top screw had come out and it flipped over). It was a SW, Southwest 70 or 72. They wanted $25.00 each if I removed them, I told them if they would give me $25.00 each I would remove them. Not the best looking pumps I ever saw.

Look on Jack Sim's website. He has manuals for the different VR meters. There aren't a great number of them so you can most likely match what you have up to one of the pictures. Oh, by the way don't call them meters. They are calculators. I just did that to make some hard core collectors cringe.

Boy, spend over a year on an ID book!!!!!!!
Post a pic of the reset side of the computer and I can ID it for you.
There is no model #'s on a Veeder Root computer, all those in your pics are part #'s.
From the bottom pic I can tell it is post #36, pre #49.
BTW....A meter drives the computer :-)
