What would be a fair value on this globe? The owner is wanting to trade, but I'm not sure of the value of this particular globe. Thanks for any help.

One just like that sold in Dan Matthews auction last Friday for 850.00.

That sure looks close to the globe I took a photo of at Mason/Dixon Gas in 2010. If I had taken a better photo might have been able to make out the asking price. Looks like 3 digits, only if I had that secret software like on CSI, then it would be clear as a bell. Here's a high res photo, I tried contrast and sharpening in Photoshop, still couldn't get it much clearer.

Thanks for the help, guys. The owner is way too high. His value of it is more than twice the selling price of the globe at Matthews. I like this globe, but not that much. Thanks again for your help in reaffirming my initial thoughts. . .that it was too pricey.
