Being that I have a family connection to the Pennsylvania oil region and that is what I have decided to concentrate on in my fledgling collection, I've been looking to research the oil companies and history. At the moment I'm interested in finding some information on the Amalie refinery at Franklin, PA that exploded and burned in 1970. I've heard stories from my parents (who actually drove through the refinery minutes before it exploded) and I've driven through the ruins myself many times. But now I live in Texas and it's a little more difficult for me to research. If anybody has information, links, resources, etc about the refinery or the Amalie oil company in general could you please share? Thank you.
