Hi,
Somewhere I saw some display ideasa for gas globes that were home made instead of paying big bucks for shelves, wall sconces etc. I think it was on this site, can anyone recall anything such as this?
Thanks in advance for your help. I tried a search but no results.

John

Here is one of mine that made the most expensive thing was all the globe rings. The shelf brackets from lowes cost about 10 for a pair and I used oak but you can use pine and it stains well and doesn't cost much

Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes.

There is a collector from here in the mid-west who decided he would build shelves for his globes. He ran the shelves around three walls (he had alot of globes) and put the globes up. Well a racoon got in his building and ran all around the three shelves. Unfortunately, the globes were not attached. Nuff said.

What ever you do, buy globe holders for each globe and bolt them down.

Heres a shelf I built several years ago and its working out great for me. It was an area that I needed to elevate the globes so they would be higher than the row in front of them!

What did you do with it Kevin?
Did you hang it on a wall or put it on a bench?
Great idea.

The coon took down around 10-12 globes i heard. This was many years ago! He said the coon had good taste! LOL

If there in a garage or barn i would most defiantly use rings to hold them. My last shelf i didn't use rings but the lights were tall enough i don't think they could come off.
Notice Bill didn't use any on his globes and Chad used PVC pipe for rings.

No rings are a chance you talk... i think they look better with out rings myself.
