Hey Everybody,
I have a question for everybody...What is the deal with the repro gold, red, and blue crowns showing up on ebay. The guy says these are extremely rare and the company who made them went out of business. My question is this true and how much of it is true? Another question is how did he just happen to get all the repro crowns? I have never seen these crowns reproed until just recently. Any history that I dont know... please fill me in!!
Thanks in advance!!
Have a great and wonderful day and happy pump hunting!!

Standard Crowns have been repro'd for many years. They are now being made with the correct 7" screw on base. The earlier repro's had a 6" flanged base. I'm not sure if those are still being made. Maybe Seth could answer that. I believe the guy that you're talking about paints them himself. Bob

Bob is correct... the plase that was making the 6" base filed bankrupt and i was told they are starting back up under a new name. That also goes for some of the narrow and wide repo glass bodies.
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

The company that was making all the glass crowns and globe bodies went under last fall. A former employee bought the company and wants to get it up and going again. But the Gas Company want's the 50 grand paid by the new guy which is owed by the previous owners. Tough situation there. The threaded bases were made just for Time Passages to sell. The collar bases were also made at the same time at the same place for everyone else to sell. The threaded base globes are very thick glass compared to the other style and is cast dated on the top. The painted ones came from another guy who did the painting himself. So, if the new owners can get up and going again the repo crowns will not be rare.
