My first petro sign is a Deep Rock & picked up The General Tire today.....these will go in my shop bust was hoping for some approximate values ? I keep a speadsheet on my items for insurance purposes if ever needed (hopefully not but you never know !) Thanks in advance for any help ! Z

Hello Steve...... Is the General Tire sign double sided..... there is one on a building in town that is completely faded and I always wondered if it might be a two sided sign.

Because neither one is MINT/N.O.S., they are only worth what someone is willing to pay.
SLOW down, DON'T BUY EVERYTHING YA FIND. QUALITY/CONDITION items will appreciate faster. Beater signs are good for filling in spaces or hanging on the fence. NOT INVESTING.

When I worked on pumps in the 80's I noticed a sign on a 766 Bennett. I took it off and scraped a little paint off it and saw it was porclain, so I put it in the paint stripper and out came a Dino sign.
That was all it took....the monkey was on my back then. I went back out and started looking on all the pumps....Came up with a
Gulf kerosene, 8" Ethyl, Fire Chief , Diesel Chief, another sinclair,sky chief, add glass and noticed one of the 766 was white porcelain.
It had Mile Maker glass in it. I bought the pump from my boss for $25.00 I think. I cleaned it up and put my stereo components in it....people though I was crazy. Noone had heard of such at the time....A GAS PUMP IN YOUR HOUSE....WHY?????

Thanks for the posts ! oucheeeee ! I understand these aren't the "mega bucks" signs nor the "most desirable" by a long shot, I've been around long enough and seen enough to know that much....not all of us can go after the monsters ! but being new to "petro" I bought these because I liked them and thought the prices were reasonable not really for investment purposes, they will hang outside on my shop.....but they have to have some value ? this is what I was looking for from you guys, I dont want anyone to think I'm using your expertise to price my stuff for re-sale.....it's strickly for my own records. Also I just like the input, and to look at and post items related to this hobby !
