hey all!

i'm restoring a wayne 615 and am replacing the two aluminum pipes that are up in the glass cylinder. one pipe measured 1.710 inches and the other 1.325. i ordered a 1.750 inch pipe and a 1.375 inch pipe, thinking i'd just turn them down in a lathe a bit if i had to. my problem is, i'm not sure what the thread sizes are because the pipes were broken off and i have no way of measuring them! i did use a thread pitch gauge in the bores that they thread into and a 12 thread per inch seemed to be the right size, but i don't want to spend a bunch of money on thread dies only to find out that they won't work! anyone know the sizes off the top of their head?

thanks in advance
-jeremy

I'm pretty sure the 1.710 OD pipe would be a 1 1/2" standard pipe size and the 1.325 OD pipe would be a 1" standard pipe size. Pipe is measured on the inside, tubing on the outside until you get to 12 inch OD then pipe is measured on the outside. Standard TPI on 1" and 1 1/2" pipe are 11 1/2 TPI but then could be either straight or tapered threads. You would have to ask the pump experts on that one. Mitch

thanks, mitch. very helpful! haven't had time to deal with it as of yet, but i'll figure it out. smile was hoping someone would know off the top of their head! bought two more visible pumps this weekend, and they're all from different manufacturers, appears there are a lot of different size tubes between the three of them so i'll put your info to good use!!
thanks again

they apear to have a polished or anodized finish. they are lightweight and not magnetic. i bought two more pumps this weekend (different manufacturers)-i haven't taken them apart yet, but they appear to have the same type of tubes/pipes in them, just different sizes
