Hello and thank you for welcoming me to your Forum. I have a Tokheim model 39 gas pump and I was wandering if anyone could decode the model for me? The data plate reads like this model:39 type:C10 47 serial:961641-5-50. I have had the gas pump for a few years and haven't really had time to do a lot of work to it. It was in Standard regular colors when I got it. I have since had the panels media blasted. I hope to finish restoring it soon. I have talked my wife in to letting me put it in the living room as a center piece. I am also going to put shelves in it so that I can hide our satellite receiver and dvd player inside. That is how I sold her on it. Any help with the data plate or tips for restoring it would be greatly appreciated. I have a lot of other projects also tractors, trucks, vendo 80 coke machine, and our house (which is probably higher on my wife's priority list) ha ha.

Welcome to Oldgas.com! Tokheim 39 is a good first pump to restore. Original and reproduction parts are readily available making it an easy restoration project.

Sorry I have not added any pictures of the pump yet. I haven't figured how to add them from my Iphone yet. I will try and add some tomorrow with my laptop. Any thought on a brand for the pump? I found some yellow paint on top of some panels under the standard colors. Does anyone know where I can find a good base for a model 39? Thank you

That's what this site is about helping each other. If you need reproduction parts vics66 and gaspump heaven do a good job. There are others out there as well. Also contact Jim Potts our moderator and he can help you with posting pictures from your phone. I use my phone to upload all of my pictures but trying to explain it would be bad on my part.

No need to try and figure out your 39, just go to this page of my website: http://petrolianacollectibles.com/tokheim%2039%20tall.htmUsing the explanation at the top determine which 39 you have, then click on the "Back to List of Tokheim Pumps" at the bottom of the page. Look up your 39 and click on it to see pictures and literature I have available for your pump. All the 39s are shown in my Gas Pump Identification book. Does anyone know what brand the yellow color in the 2nd picture goes with? That is some of the left over original paint. It was under the Standard colors. Thanks for the help with adding pictures.
