Good evening all, I picked up a metal gas can on ebay, and I was wondering if somebody has a method they use to remove the smell out of these sorts of items. I was thinking of baking soda and water but I don't know if that would do anything.
Does anyone have a "recipe" they would like to share? Thanks,

ajax dish washing liquid and a shot of pine sol lemon... rinse real good.. swipe out what you can with a paper towel....
let air dry for a week... should do it... i do this with oil cans too... but.... if the paint is weak, tread lightly and try not to get the outside of the can too wet... believe me, just plain water will remove paint especially around a chip...
