Using Jim Potts' photo that he posted in the 2003 Iowa Gas selection:
http://home.earthlink.net/~oldgas3/images/42-.jpg
So I saw this on Thursday and was awestruck. Did these come from the factory? The ID tag only claimed "CUT: 60" so there was no special designation on ID (like the narrow vs. wide).
I tried my best to figure out if the wire routing was a homemade job. Unfortunately the ad glass on one side and the deco brass on the other concealed the possible sighting of wiring manifold. But I figured it was original mainly due to the fact that the top crown had no globe hole cut in it.
The sconce is definitely beautiful, but could easily be an aftermarket add-on. But the hole-less top really made me marvel.
So is the buyer on this board with the answer? I really got to get my copy of Sim's book. Soon, when I have more money, I will.

Chris, I am not the new owner, but thought it looked pretty cool too. Not original, but cool. Many of the wayne 60's came without globe holders and smooth tops. it does look like it's been there quite awhile. ------------------ Don "oltoydoc" Sherwood Vintage Gas

Good to know. I wasn't sure. Although the sconce is neat, it doesn't fit 100% with the pump. It's almost too (dare I say) gaudy in it's own right, corinthian to be defined, to be on the streamlined 60. I like it, though.

Chris, Rob & I looked at it also. Not original to the pump, but has been there a long time. Maybe the canopy wasn't high enough to mount the globe on top. Looks like a wall sconce. Dick
