I have a question concerning this globe for sale on ebay (item 130243205113). Many years ago I bought the same Sinclair original with a capco body and the seller said me that this globe originally was only in capco. Why this one has a glass body? Maybe because they simply put lenses on a glass body?

enrico,i am not an expert,but the globe book i have says that this lens was originally on a glass body.it calls it the "correct configuration"glass body lenses will fit in a capco,but capco lenses will not always fit on a glass body.depends on the width of the notches.sometimes smaller screws may be used to make it work.whether or not these lenses actually came on a capco originally,some one else will have to tell us.mick

Thank you Mick, it seems me to understand the "correct configuration" glass body lenses is the most correct. What do you mean with capco lenses? Maybe glass lenses that only fit on capco bodies? If yes, does it means that my lenses will probably don't fit on a glass body?

the notches on a glass body lens are deeper than a lens made for capco(capcolite or plastic)some times people will put a capco lens on a glass body,but must use smaller screws cause the normal size screws will not fit because of the notches.have to be carefull doing this cause you could break the lens.since the notches are deeper on a glass body lens,they usually fit in the capcolite with no problem.again lot of guys here know more about it,but this is what i have learned here!

From what I've seen, the "Super Fuel" lenses are for glass bodies. But, it is possible some were also made for Capco bodies. Lenses intended to fit Capco bodies used thinner glass. Fitting thick lenses (for glass bodies) into a Capco body is difficult, but can be done. It will result in a gap at the bottom or top of the Capco body.

Some lenses were made to fit both Capco and glass bodies. These lenses are thin glass, with deep notches.
