This is a piece I picked up this weekend along with some other misc. things. This is so sad as a Texaco collecter, I wish I could have discovered this piece years ago before the sign began to fade away!!

On that note, is their anything I can do to make sure it does not progress any fruther!!! The sign is painted.

Clean dry storage. If you have any acidic fumes (like from a bottle of Muriatic acid) it will help more rust form. Keep it out of the rain and off of the ground. I've been able to get a lot of rust staining off by using No.7 brand Chrome Polish. It's great on porcelian, but you'll have to be careful -- especially if the paint is getting that "matte" finish to it. That's when paint is breaking down and can be rubbed off.
