Hello everbody, My name is Mike from Baltimore Md and I am new here so if I ask some dumb questions here please be gentle.lol Well here is my question. I purchase a gilbarco to restore it is complete but I was wondering the person I purchased the pump was using to pump diesel fuel and on the side of the pump it has the plate that has the Lead with tetraethyl on it. Could this pump be used for pumping gasoline or diesel? Thanks for any help..

Welcome Mike,,, the sign on the side doesn't mean too much other to tell the customer that if it were gasoline coming out of the pump that the product did contain lead... I was a contractor with the oil companies for many years and we switched pumps around from gas to diesel or diesel to gas.. The pump will pump either or..

That practice is still alive and well in today's world. for many stations diesel is a low volume product, so it doesn't make sense to shell out big bucks for a new pump/dispenser That won't pay for itself within a reasonable time, so you use what'S laying around.
