Hello everyone!

I have recently retired and my first project will be fixing up my garage. I have a couple cool collector cars and want my garage to look nice too. I have always liked gas & oil signs but never really had much time to pursue the hobby since I spent so much time working. So once I clean out the garage & paint it, I'd like to start by hanging a nice Mobilgas Pegasus shield sign on the wall. A pump plate is too small and the big 5 foot long signs are too big. I don't know if there is something in between, so may be someone can advise me what to look for.

I'd like to say this is a great site. I've already done a lot of reading on it before joining last night. The amount of repros out there is downright scary! So finding this site will prevent me from making a costly mistake. Thank you in advance!

Welcome to Oldgas.com! A puffer pegasus sign might be what you want. Here's a pic of mine, embossed porcelain and it measures 53"x35". Second photo will give you an idea how it compares in size to the other signs.

Hi Dave,

That's a great "Mobil" wall! I like all the Mobil signs. A shield would probably work best for me to start and a "puffer" later as I think they are more rare & expensive.

I just measured my wall again. A mobil "shield" from about 24 inches to 36 inches would fit ideal. Are there any shields in that size range? Thanks!

I don't believe smaller sizes were used in North America. I have these two smaller signs 47"x24" and 43"x41", they both came from South Africa. I was lucky to get them.

Hi Dave,

That's a great display! The Sinclair Dino and Mobil Pegasus go well together and really "POP!" Thanks for sharing.

I measured again. A 4 foot Pegasus shield would work well.
