Bob, thanks for your witness about those years when our loved pumps was operational. Your history is very interesting and tell about the hard work you did and that we don't see on pictures, brochures, road maps, etc. where all people always smile and seem to be happy. We only see the good side.
Concerning the pumps we nowadays restore and collect I think that each one can do everything prefer, me personally I try to stay closest to original because I find that a lot more interesting. Even if a pump had 2 or 3 or 5 different companies I try to redone it with taste. If it didn't have a globe on top I like add one, even if it is a repro but I don't like see pumps turned into a tv cabinet, etc. Instead of these conversions I prefer see them rusty and abandoned but personally I also dislike show pumps too perfect in condition that never existed in the old good days.
