A while back there was a post asking about how do you display your pumps. Well it got me thinking about my Wayne and I decided to paint it as if it had just been taken from the station. I didnt strip the skins or finish them in any way, just taped it off and shot it in a green and tan paint scheme. The dome,globe and a couple of misc parts should be here Monday or so and Ill post a final pic or 2. Here are the so far pics

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Truth is back when they were in service, I doubt any were disassembled and stripped to be repainted, unless they had to. Be proud that you're saving a classic. Keep us up to date with more pics as you finish it off.

Recd the bonnet and painted it, now wiring up the lights and reassembling the top, a cylinder is going to have to wait a bit but Ill show you the progress as it goes

I lOVE pumps that are done like this..way to go Scooter81. cant wait to see it finished.

OK here are the latest pics. Not the finished pics because I`ll probably keep changing stuff forever and one day do a "concourse restoration", but for now its the way I hoped it would turn out.

And the abridged history of this build......
I saw the pump disassembled in a warehouse about 6 months ago, looked at it and thought Ill have to investigate that later, and promptly forgot about it. I remembered the rusty old pump about a month ago and stopped back and inquired about it to the warehouses owner. He said it was for sale and named his price, I paid him and called my friend with a flatbed wrecker to bring it to my house. I was amazed at how complete it was I assembled it and ran a tap and die thru all the holes and over the studs and decided what flavor I would do it in and chose the Bengal because it was off the beaten path so to speak. I ordered the globe,hose and bonnet from Webers. Once they arrived I fitted them and painted as I went. I bent the conduit myself and ran the wiring to 2 sockets, 1 for the globe and 1 for the cylinder. Aaahh yes the cylinder I was doing this on a budget which didnt include a new repop cylinder so... I figured out how much plexiglas i would need and had the hardware store cut some 1/8 inch flat sheet for me. I then got out my salamander heater and a couple of 5 gal buckets taped end to end, wrapped in an old towel and went to town.

I know this is getting long but Im almost done.... I heated the plex and formed it over the buckets and secured it with webbing tie downs to keep its shape as it cooled. The next morning I was happily surprised as I took off the tie downs and it kept its shape and actually fit and looked pretty much OK. So heres the build tally

Nozzle 5.75 (yard sale)
There are still a couple of touch ups to do but I was excited to show off my 2 week wonder

GREAT JOB SCOOTER!!! I also picked up a pump for a case of cold ones.... As color schemes changed on pumps, they were just painted over, roller, brush, spray paint, whatever... I think that you did a great job. Dont change it at all...
