Hi everyone...although its not gas and oil related..i had to share this story with you. We all love to go to Estate sales and when one of my very good tattoo clients called me and wanted me to get in to her Grandmas Estate sale (Heathers Grandma rest in peace) a day before they opened it to the public ...i jumped at the chance and went right over. Heather is moving to Belgium in a month and wanted her back tattoo finished before she left and said whatever i wanted I could have in trade for tattoo work...YES. I going through a split with Ginni thought this a great opportunity to pick up some furniture (since i told Ginni she could have all of the furniture if I could keep the gas junk)and of course to snoop through the garage for oil cans and such. The house was pretty picked over by Family but i was able to get a nice table and chairs that will look great with some of my coke signs hung behind it. (Cool Huh DOC TAG)
I also have to pick up a fabulous couch set from the late 60's in awesome shape ...nice sectional that makes an L shape.
I noticed from the outside it was a 2 car garage but when we got inside it was a one car garage...confused I asked about it and Heather revealed that her Grandpa built a "slide away wall" that she slid back to uncover a huge walk in vault like banks have...stunned I said whats in there..she said he was a gun collector and all the guns were taken by family and all that was left was his trophies that no one wanted...I am thinking marksman trophies but to my surprise and delight she openned it to unvail a whole room of taxidermy..WOW..huge polar bears and Mountain rams heads , wolves , skulls and skins galore...LOL...I was so excited...I was able to come home with some cool stuff ...my favorite being "Smokie" below Smokie takes up a whole King size bed...I always wanted a real bear skin rug and this was taxidermied in the 60's and is in perfect shape. I want the wolf rug too for a friend fro smokie but Heather had to check with her Cousin who might want it first. The polar bear was so huge ( about 3 times as big as smokie) and its head was seperated from its body that i passed...If it doesnt go I still might get it but I definately was happy to get Smokie and didnt want to appear "dead thing greedy" LOL
Thanks for letting me tell this non petro related score of the week. Incidently...no oil cans or gas stuff not even a matchbook. She did have 2 neon signs (beer) ..I only drink the stuff ...I dont collect it so I passed on those as well. I was thrilled with smokie and the furniture and the 15" Walrus Oosic if y'all know what that is...LOL
