George, the Marathon is in Parke county Indiana, not too far from Brazil.

Mick, that's one awesome 20s prefab steel station! The garage was probably not part of the prefab unit, but who knows. That would be an excellent one to acquire/move/restore.

Saw these on the way to an auction yesterday. The building behind them is now the post office for this small community. No one was there to talk to about possible sale. Wonder if the fact that it is government property now will tie them up in red tape?

That's not a pre-fab that Mick has posted...my guess is it's brick construction with metal tiles on the roof. I'm sure it is a Wadhams Pogota station as that is also the correct light pole for one. Could you tell me were this station is or maybe who owns it?
I'm sure it could not be moved...but would like to check out the history of this (Wisconsin?)station.

Ok, my mistake then. I was thinking it looked a lot like the prefab stations I had seen for Sears and Standard, like in this illustration.
It would definitely be cool to get the light, even if you couldn't get the building...

Your right Wes,VERY similiar,but the Wadhams stations had that curve to the roof to make them look Japanese.Also the light pole gives it away as a Wadhams station. I have an original blueprint from one of these stations and it specified red, yellow, and black bricks for the front of the station. This station looks like it was stuccoed over. It would sure be sharp all painted up correctly! I want that light pole!!!

Ian, I've seen those pumps before. They're not owned by the post office but rather a local guy. He is not willing to sell them and gets asked all the time apparently. No idea why he won't sell them.

Nice pumps though.

Figures they would not be for sale. Since I have decided I wanted a pump to restore, I have had great luck finding them. No luck in getting them. Saw one on a farm last weekend. Turned around to go up the driveway to find that the farmer had pulled up to the pump and started filling up his truck. So my search continues.

I've had similar bad luck finding places that recently had pumps but had just sent them to the scrap heap. My girlfriend's father had a friend who had a Fry Mae West on his farm (determined that after he described it and showed him some pictures) but they had it junked about 2 months previous. Had the cylinder and everything.

You are right about that old wooden station being a Marathon. A previous supervisor of mine showed me a picture he took of it a number of years ago with the Sign still on it.

I'VE SEEN THIS PUMP FOR SEVERAL YEARS NEXT TO AN OLD BARN NOT TOO FAR FROM TAG.EAST. I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHO IT BELONGS TO AND THAT THE BARN IS LEASED OUT TO A GUY WHO DOES AUTO REPAIRS.

TOKHEIM bought out NATIONAL & probly continued to make the same style pumps at both plants.
At one time I had a TOK., NAT. & a WAYNE of this model pump. My guess is that TOK. had a large contract & needed help in filling the order, so they sub-contracted some of it to WAYNE.

A year after he took this, he ran across a painting of it at the Covered Bridge Festival in Parke County.
