I was at the Michigan Gas show and like many found out about Oldgaspump buying Vic’s. I hope the ink dries fast on those forms, normally you don’t put word out until everything is a done deal, but I wish the best of luck to Don and his organization. I also found out some other information that I feel everyone needs to know about.

I, like many others in this business, have assumed that Vic’s was the place for pump parts. Little did any of us know that over half of Vic’s pump parts were supplied by Gas Pump Heaven and that Gas Pump Heaven supplies quite a number of other companies with parts that they are manufacturing.

I did not know of Gas Pump Heaven and I am really surprised that no one talks about them. I have been using their parts without even knowing.

None of the suppliers make everything they sell, so what is the Big Deal ?
Without the different suppliers WE could not be restoring 99% of the pumps being found. Not everyone can afford original sheet metal, signs, globes, decals, oil bottles, cans, etc etc etc.

GPH is also known as Park Drive Garage & has been in business longer than most other vendors.

Some people just dont know how to get along. I do not know why you care who made the part. Like dick said no one makes all the parts they sell. Further more there are times that the person that makes the part has the highest list price. This just in brace your self diane and andy dont make all the parts they sell and dont get too excited but seth even made some of the parts they sell.

I don't know of ANY company that can manufacture most of the products and/or items they use or sell, let alone everything. It sounds to me, as if Don and Seth are doing everything humanly possible to make the "switch over" as painless and smooth as possible. For us, the end user. It won't be nearly as smooth or painless for Don and his family, I'm sure. Giving advance notice on the change in ownership, in my opinion, can only help everyone involved in this hobby. It lets everyone know that a major supplier (Vic's) is still in business and looking forward.

What question did a new guy ask ??

I, too have been surprised that we don't hear that much about Gas Pump Heaven on this site. I've been buying my stuff from them (and Vic's, and Scobie, and.....etc., etc.) for years, but it seems as though we hear a lot more about Vics then GPH on this site...maybe because Seth takes the time to post here quite often?? I love that we have so many people making pump parts and that we have such a wide variety of parts available. As Dick said, 99% of pumps can be restored thanks to EVERYONE'S efforts. That certainly wasn't the case ten or fifteen years ago. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO TAKES THE TIME AND EFFORT TO PROVIDE US WITH GOOD, QUALITY REPRODUCTION PARTS!!!

Seth has posted/replied Many times here that he IS the biggest buyer of GPH parts. So that is not news to most regulars/lurkers of this site.

Unless you were trying to buy Seth out, WHAT'S THE BEEF ?

One supplier sells the supplies they make not only to the public, but also wholesale to other suppliers.

This person (again, taking shots at me hidden behind a screen name, although I'm forming an opinion as to Mr. Sourgrapes' identity) didn't ask a question, they made an allegation that they can't support with fact. Fortunately I CAN supply you, the public with the facts. Here they are: in fiscal 2007, Vic's Place, LLC had $1,020,000 in expeditures. In fiscal 2007, $58,000 of that was sent to Omaha, NE.

Now, when I was in school, $58K wasn't HALF of $1million. That info comes straight from my 2007 Federal Income Tax Schedule 'C'. That kids, is how you state facts and not how you make half-as$ed claims that you can't support.

Here are some other facts: I bought parts from & sold parts to: Past Gas Florida, Time Passages, Mike Slama, Big Cheese, and many, many other "suppliers" INCLUDING Gas Pump Heaven. This has been standard practice since this "business" began and is the standard in most if not all other industries, so forgive us LUCK if we aren't all shocked & horrified at what your crack detective work has uncovered.

Oh yeah, I'll leave with you one other fact I learned tonite: That it is possible for an attorney to subpoena an IP address to pinpoint the exact location & source of a slanderous accusation made on a public internet forum.

There are lots of places to buy parts, Ron Scoobie, Gas Pump Heaven, Andy, Webers and now Vics old Gas pump. Buy from each decide who you like the best, whatever. Just don't come on this site and make 50% of your post negative.

In response to Dick Bennett....you are right, I have never been shy on in any arena (net, phone, face-to-face) about the fact that I bought a lot of parts from GPH among many other vendors. Actually, what I've always said was that I was pretty sure we were each other's biggest customers.

Fellas, just put 2 + 2 together on this deal and realize that this is just bitterness from SOMEONE who DEFINITELY has a dog in this fight.

BUT...to come on here and OPENLY make a 100% UNTRUE & UNPROVABLE CLAIM (that I was buying OVER 1/2 of my part #'s from GPH) is crossing the line. I would like to request the moderators not let the original post be editted, or at least make a record of this thread and send it to me. I've printed it out for safekeeping.
