Thanks to those of you who suggested I go ahead and buy the Greyhound clock. I did and it's really neat,lights up & keeps great time. It's dated '59. The Liquid Wrench is in need of a little help, but still nice. Thanks again!

Hi, Cliff. Hey, you did great on the Pam Greyhound Clock for $100. You should know that this Greyhound advertising face has been reproduced (without any repro marking). Some sellers have been known to install repro ad faces inside old Pam clock bodies. Imagine that! Don't get me wrong....you may well have an original. And, if not, you still did great on the clock pricing, even if the face is a reproduction. Sometimes it is tough to tell unless you've looked at a bunch of Pam clocks over the years. I'm simply tossing this information out for your background. Again, you've got a nifty clock that I'm sure you'll enjoy for years to come in your shop. Best, John

I'll bet its real if they put a repop face in it they would ask more than $100!!!! Jim

As Jolly-John mentioned, it would be hard to tell from just the photo if the face is original,
or a repro.
I can tell however that the clock has been 'fiddled' with somewhat.
The electrical cord has been replaced, and the minute hand is a newer replacement as well.
One thing to look for on the hands to tell if they're original Pam hands or newer replacements:
note the triangular-shaped ends of each hand. See how on the hour hand, the base of that
triangle is straight across? That's an original hand. Now notice on the minute hand how the
base of the triangle is not straight across, but crescent-shaped? It's a newer repro hand.
This newer minute hand is also quite shorter in length than an original would have been.
Still, It's a good looking clock for your wall!

Another tip-off to most repro faces I have seen is that the backside will be very smooth (baby's butt) compared to an original. Backside of an original PAM (or other vintage) face will feel much like the backside of an original lens for a gas pump globe.
