I didn't know him that well, but had talked with him a few times. I first met him at Iola, where I bought my first globe from him -- the Economy on old-style capco. It was sitting on the front seat of the van in that picture when I first saw it. Later, I saw him twice at Evansville (the 2 times we've gone there), which is where Tom's picture was taken. He was a real nice guy - I remember, at Iola, him telling us the story of putting an NOS crown globe into the front seat of a Chevrolet he had in his barn or warehouse. When he passed it through the window into the seat, the top hit the window frame, and knocked a hole in the top of the crown... It happens to the best of us, I guess. I'm sure he will be missed -- I looked forward to seeing his booth at Evansville.
