For anybody that never got to see his place words can't explain. I only wish i had pics. If you can imagine an old store type building. Being 30-40 ft wide 100 ft long, about 50-60 ft being his home for gas and oil. He would go around to the back to let you in as soon as you walked around the corner it started, signs leaning against the building that alone is 15 signs or so. When he opened the wooden barn type double doors in the back. When you walk in, you can't help but to let your jaw just drop. Then he turns the lights on jaw drops a lil more. Signs hanging from the rafters, on the walls all types of cans piled high. Imagine 4 vehicles 2 on each side of the room. All you can see is the windows, and some small glimpses of blue and white paint showing threw underneath the cans, posters, adds, displays and etc..In the very back sits two old wooden county store display cases. One 12ft long the other 8ft both as full as John could get them of advertising,bottles and stuff. Behind that on the wall is shelves, a display of 5qts. Flanking that on the left is misc. cans of all sizes on the right are globes. No matter how many times i went there. ALL YOU COULD DO IS TURN IN CIRCLES IN AMAZEMENT!! As my girlfriend just said this doesn't even cover the other work shop or all the other rows of pump's out side. John was and still is a very good friend. I'm so glad that we had gone and seen him just a few short month's ago. I got 2 pamphlet's for my illinois farm supply collection.
