I recently found these two signs behind an abandoned auto parts garage. Questions: What product were they for? How old are they? Are they common ? Are they saleable? What value if any? I found your forum while looking for these answers. Seems like a great site. Any help will be appreciated as I am not a sign collector. Thanks, Paul

I forgot to mention that these signs measure 47" at the widest point by 24" height.

A-1 MIGHT'VE BEEN RELATED TO FORD USED CARS? LIKE "OK" USED CARS WAS RELATED TO CHEVY/GMC? NOT 100% SURE! THEY LOOK TO BE FROM THE 50'S OR 60'S AND APPEAR TO BE PORC. THESE WERE SOMETIMES HUNG FROM THE LIGHT POLES IN THE USED CAR LOTS. THEY ARE PROBABLY WORTH $150-$225 IN THAT CONDITION ONLY BECAUSE IT'S PRETTY MUCH A GENERIC SIGN THAT CARRIES NO BRAND NAME.

I agree with Doc. They are a used car sign for Ford. I would place value at $250-$500 for the pair. Nice find!! Are you going to sell them or hang on to them?

I'd guestimate the value at around $4-500 per sign.

Nice find.

Paul I looked in a book I have & it had these signs in it. The ones in the book had neon around the A-1 & the outer edges. The book had a value of $2500-$4000. But condition is everything!!! As for the responce you are getting you can tell you have something. Hope this helps

PS Here are some on Ebay now http://cgi.ebay.com/FORD-A-1-AUTO-USED-CAR-NEON-PORCELAIN-SIGN_W0QQitemZ320304856524QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320304856524&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A4%7C65%3A10%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3 286.c0.m14

Thanks for all your responses! It was great to read your posts, I have also talked to some of you personally and I have made a deal to sell the pair. Thanks again! I will post if I find anything else.
