I was wondering????? Do those of you that have pumps displayed outside, have them affixed to the ground in some way? I'm thinking of the ferocious North Dakota winds that we get sometimes. It isn't very often that it tops 50mph but sustained 40 mph winds in this country are frequent and we have had gusts to 70, every once in a while!

My pumps are just setting on concrete. The only problem I have had is my @@@@@@@@&&&&&&&&&&&%%%% son knocking one over with his car

Get yourself one of those concrete A/C mounting pads. Set your pump on it and mark for the mounting holes. Drill part way through the pad with a masonary bit a few sizes larger than the threaded rod you plan on using. Install some short pieces of threaded rod using some of the high-tech adhesives available for this purpose. Once the adhesive dries/cures, put the pad where you want it and bolt the pump down. Once you close and lock the door - theives will be hard-pressed to walk off with your pump.

In the Spokane area there has been a number of pumps stolen.some one stole a nice old wayne 60 from an old station and a number of visables have been stolen. I even heard of a whole globe collection that was stolen around here( I hope your reading this). Is this normal for other parts of the country.

The pumps I have done specifically for outside, I have always left the guts in for the weight

I did lag this on down with four 3/8" bolts to help prevent it from growing "legs".

T-Way---Do those air conditioner pads come in a rounded shape at all? I was thinking of the pump island shapes and then just use those pound in masonry lags to hold it down.
Thievery isn't so much of a problem here in North Dakota--its too d#%m cold! With these economic times tho, I think it behooves all of us to be on the watch for someone coming around with deals too good to be true! If something gets stolen, it could be posted here and we could all be on the lookout for it!
I know I have pictures of all my stuff!
