yes the glass is smaller than the opening and has a small lip for the sheet metal side. It stays on the glass just fine but doesn't seem to want to fit in the opening. I tried to install the gasket on the sheet metal then install the glass but the gasket absolutely will not stay on the sheet metal. You mentioned rope in your last post, Anyway you can shed some light on the method?

I did one a few weeks ago for a friend I had the rubber backwards and it wouldnt go in. your glass i think has to be smaller than the opening? with out looking at it im not sure. did you tape the rubber to the glass? You have to go slow and work it around the opening dont jump from side to side it will put to much pressure on the glass good luck
