Lubsters were not the most important thing in a service station, and very few of them had signs that were mounted on the top of them. Most were lined up along a wall, and the only thing visible was the front of the lubster and and a decal was placed on them to indicate what the contents were. I have seen Pennzoil next to Mobil, next to Texaco. Back when, station sold what ever they thought their custemers wanted.
Don't get me wromg. restore the unit the way you like it, that's all that counts.
