I used Standox for a while but we ran into the problem of running out during work and not able to get more quickly.The location makes a difference,you want to be able to get more product readliy if possible,sounds stupid but if you paint you know what I mean.The quality of dupont is very poor any more and doesnt cover at all,ppg or value pro is much better.Single stage looks great and lays down nice but doesnt last at all outside,seems to always get that chalky look to it after awhile.If I was new I would still use it though,very easy to spray.Mi 2 sents!

PPG is my choice. Best friend owns a body shop and has a PPG mixing system. He has over 500 partial cans that are left over from jobs that I can choose from for FREE. I can usually find match numbers on the most of the basic colors. He will even shoot it for me most of the time. Like Neal says you can't beat a guy that does paint work every day>

I use Dupont product. Basically for two simple reasons, one, because thats what the local supplier carries. And two, Thats what I have grown to become most familiar with. The Dupont product that I've used has been the Centari w/ hardener and the ChromaOne and Chromabase product.
Paint is pricey, and Im always looking to save a buck. Has anyone used Valspar?
I'm also tempted to go low buck on primer like a marson/marhyde brand.
For the most part the pumps that are being restored will be kept indoors, is it worth using the big dollar paint systems? I dont know...just a question...

I personally think that any of the lower brands work well for any of the gas pumps.The workmanship is under the paint.If you cant do bodywork your paint will only look as good as whats underneath.Valu pro runs around 75 for a gallon of red,gal of primer 60 dollars.I have used it many times and they stand behind it for matching which is nice!
