Picked this up at a local flea market for a great price- Its rough- but thought it was worth it:  Picked these Quaker State Cans up at a local yard sale- Not what I buy but they are mint and CHEAP:  Picked this up at a local flea market-I have been looking for this one- Early Firestone:   Local tag sale:  Not sure of age but thought it was cool:Any Ideas on age?  I finally found the insert I was looking for to complete the display (thanks to e-bay):

I went to an auction on saturday that had a porcelain Texaco sign listed! Since I knew the auctioneer very well, I called him and asked for a description. He knows NOTHING about signs but I figured he could describe it to me! He said it had the Texaco star at the top and a black band across the bottom and didn't have any writing on it! That was kind of weird I thought, so I pressed him for more answers and he told me that it was supposedly a "pump plate" or something like that? He also said the "flange" was in good shape, so it was a nice sign! NOW my curiosity was really peaked! I wasn't going to travel 100 miles for a Texaco pump plate unless it was special, so I asked about size and he told me it was about 18 inches! OK, OK, plain old pump plate but wait a minute----was he sure there was a flange??? YES, he was sure there was a flange, so that was enough to get me headed to the sale. Well, when I got there, this is what I found!!! I could barely keep from jumping up and down, but I calmly walked away to look at other things until it was time to bid. The auctioneer came over to me and asked if it was what I thought and I said yes, I liked it and I guessed I'd probably bid on it!! Tough to remain calm!! It cleaned up real nice and is in its new place on a post in my shop!! Heres a couple of "BEFORE" pictures with the paint splatters!   Heres the "AFTER" pics, before it went up on the post!

Price went up to about $40 here in Northern California in the last year. This one is old, I missed the chance to get it in January, I was sold before I returned from looking at the rest of the items for sale:  Mike

I got my lube barrel for free, at Jiffy Lube, a few weeks ago;  From Ed(MetroPetro) the Sunoco potholder;  From ebay;   Uploaded with ImageShack.usI've been lucky lately that none of these items cost over $24 plus the shipping costs.
