Some of the early 5gal pumps were made to be mounted on Concrete bollards, next were the Cast Iron bases & lastly Stamped Steel bases.
IF I was to display a 10gal W/O a base, I'd mount it to a 3' dia. pc of plywood [& the 5gal too]. To easy to knock over w/o.
