Clockface versions have the glass in front of (outside) the porcelain faceplates. Computer/VR versions have the glass mounted between the VR unit and the procelain faceplates.

As I mentioned previously, I'll post shots of the VR version faceplate/glass/stamped holder mounting arrangement tomorrow.
