I'm driving down a rural road last Saturday. At 45 miles per hour I spot an unrestored pump in the woods about 40 yards in. Hit the brakes, back up without hitting anything and begin my trek into the woods. Fighting sapplings, snow, and wind I'm almost there. What could it be my mind wonders, an A38, perhaps and MS80. As I approach my new found treasure, to my dismay it is neither of the above. Instead it is a pump made by Fridgidaire, it looks like it must have kept food and drink items cold at one time. I see the outlines of pumps everywhere I drive, I see them in my sleep. Is this some type of dimensia or paranoid episode? I think I need professional help.

When Don Sherwood and I made out trek into Oregon and beyond in search of pumps I was the same way. We drove for hours and I was checking every inch of the landscape. I thought I was going to puke most of the time, my eyes were sore and I was dizzy. I thought every old heap of metal was a cash recorder! In the end it always seemed Don was the one to spot one, he is good.
I remember the good old days when gold was worth more than rust!

Maybe we should get into pump swapping!! I take my Boyle-Dayton to Lance for awhile, I take one of his back , then 6 months later we switch again!
No money changes hands, feels like getting a new pump, get to smash your fingers and toes loading em up..lotsa fun..MeThinks..LOL

I even let my wife drive on the weekends so I can scope out pumps without driving off the road and putting my whole family in danger. Its a serious disease. Gotta love it though. ~Jason

Count me in !! I was driving through the mountains and I thought I spotted a Tok 850. I swerved and almost ended up in a ditch. The friend I was with thought I had a seizure or something when he found out I thought i saw one of my favorite pumps laying on its side calling out to be rescued, he thought I was nuts. I ran up in the woods through a bunch of blackberry thorns and everything...I almost cried when I to my dismay it was a hot water heater someone dumped...If I recall right I think I kicked it and called it a decieving piece of ****. HA HA what did he think when you got back in the car??? Still laughing.
Reminds me of the time I was driving with a buddy that never collects anything. We are trucking down the road pretty fast and I see a bunch of balloons on a post at the front of a yard, Yard Sale says I, lets check it out on the way back. It was mid afternoon and we went back that way a short time later. My buddy could care less if we went to a garage sale, so we pull in the drive. Not a wide drive a bit hard to get turned around till you got to the back, big open space behind the house. We see tables set up, kids all over , cake, pop, presents, etc, etc. Buddy looks over at me with a look of disbelief, says "Good One, you crashed Little Jimmy's Birthday party"!!!
Good thing I didnt kick little Jimmy..LOL..dodogas
