Hope you guys can give me some advice. I want to paint a porcelain item. I tried scuffing it with a DA and 180 grit disc, won't touch it. Has anybody had any experience sandblasting it? Will the sandblasting scruff it or should I blast all the porcelain off? Thanks for any advice.

I have bead blasted a lot of porcelain pieces. Only scuff the finish, complete removal is not necessary. After the blasting, do any body work needed and continue with etching primer and finish. I've had excellent resurts with this method. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

WHAT ABOUT A COATING OF "C.L.R?" Calcium, Lime, Rust Product. I left that stuff on a Porcelain Coke sign for 30 minutes and while it took off the rust stains, it also DULLED the finish dramatically.
