 Here is a RARE oil sign for the oil & tractor collector! Great old Oil Pull Oil tin sign with localized advertising from Montana. Take a look at the picture and contact me if you have something good to trade! I'm especially interested in a similar style tin sign advertising for Ford Motor Cars. Alex,
Just trade at this point. There were three of these in a barn by Lewistown. A friend of mine got them 10 years ago. One went on eBay, I got one, and the other was rough and ended up in a collection in Laurel. I would rather trade it for a nice coal or mining sign, or a nice early tin sign with good graphics. Let me knwo what you have.

Alex,
I lived in Absarokee for 10 years and worked for Stillwater Mining Co. I'm a federal mine inspector now and they sent me to Kansas. That Oil Pull Oil sign is a rare one for sure! I'm always looking for nice early 1900's tin signs, but also pre-prohibition brewery items from Butte such as signs, trays, lithos etc. Also always looking for mining items.

Hey BigTom,
Thanks for the reply. There is an AMAZING story that goes with the sign. In 1943 the mine exploded and killed 74 miners. It was a very small mining / coal company in the Beartooth Mountains near Red Lodge Montana. I love that sign so much that I even had thier mascot "Mr. Lumpy" tatooed on my arm! I am always seeking Smith Coal, Bearcreek Coal, Foster Creek Coal, Roundup Coal, Keene Coal, Bair-Collins Coal, Megeath Coal, Carney Coal, Kleenburn Coal, and Owl Creek Coal items. These were all local mining companies in the Montana, and Northern Wyoming areas. For more information on Smith Coal please "google" Smith Mine Disaster and read all about it, a very tragic story.
