Hi,

I'm working with a local business owner on the restoration of a Texaco station that is currently part of a liquor store.

The station was apparently built in 1935, and I can't find any photos of similar Texaco stations on the internet.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has any information on this style of Texaco station....

Almost looks like one-of-a-kind or perhaps a regional style. Nice to hear it's getting pampered instead of torn down!

We don't know of any stations like this in South Dakota, and it's in fantastic condition.

The previous owner bricked and boarded up the doors, but left them in place behind the infill. It was a working gas station until about 35 years ago.

This is not a standard Texaco design. Either of "one of a kind" design, or limited to a single jobber who may have commissioned the design and built several examples within their limited marketing area.

We've got one of those here in Sioux Falls! The Texaco station is somewhat similar in profile, but doesn't use the distinctive glazed brick or terracotta coping....
