Mike, I think all the "pump police" are out of town right now, so get it done quickly! lol
Like the other guys said, it's your pump, please yourself. I know of one guy who turned a few pumps into "stationliter" type pumps by mounting a large piece of PVC pipe, in between the globe holder on top of the pump, and the globe it's self. It actually looked pretty good. He was asked to leave town by sundown, but for another infraction, not the light addition to his pumps.
