It is the complete experience that is tops.
Seeing old friends meeting new ones . We sold more this year than any of the 8 before and I bought some awesome pieces for my collection.Some was prebought and some found at the show.
We really need to remember just how much time and work all promoters of all the shows do long before the show.
Iowa Gas and other shows make this hobby so much better.
Let's all support all the promoters.
Personally during the next year I plan on making a west coast show and a couple of shows up east mostly to meet more of you fellow collectors.
A average layman would be surprised at how much trust is among fellow collectors, to me it is amazing.

Well folks I am a newbie here and hadn't heard too much negative about IG, but even if I had I would surely be encouraged by all of your comments to try and make a show whenever I can. thanks for the bump in the right direction. I have an awfull lot to learn and I am getting a real late start, and I need a lotta help so if you dont mind I am going to need some more bumping along the way. Mtn Mike-- PS glad to be apart of this outfit.

Iowa Gas 2011 was another amazing one. It's certainly not the same show it once was, but its still one of the very best.

I sold a ton of stuff (99% was never available on ebay), bought a some great cans, a St. Louis 409 visible, and a couple of signs.

Most importantly, I got to see a lot of great friends, connect some dots on some history, and managed to get a couple hours of sleep. I also use shows as a way to get things picked up, I had items come from Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennesse.

One other note, shows are hard work. It doesn't matter if you are "only" a buyer or a seller, it takes timing and hustle to win. Life gets in the way of everything unless you show the commitment to get it done.

Iowa Gas is just plain right awesome every year I attend!
For me it's not just the show it is the adventure of the open road and scrounging the small old towns. My trailer has signs mounted on it indicating that I buy old pumps globes and signs. On the way home I was spending the night at a motel in a small Kansas town and a fire alam tech that installed alarms in the motel told me his family had some Derby globes and signs that they might sell me next year if I call in advance. I love the hunt!!!
